The Shure prairie garden landscape was designed by CDF to create an interesting and inviting natural garden space for employees, a walking path system, plazas, and a small sunken garden. Canopy trees and a trellis structure lend shade from summer sun, while a line of crabapple trees visually and physically connect the prairie garden to the building. The limestone and concrete paths form small plazas at their convergences, providing circulation nodes with suitable seating. A system of wooden and concrete boardwalks allow employees to walk across the natural swale and provide seating that faces the rain gardens, adding to the people-place experience of the prairie garden.
