David Yocca Speaking at MI Green Infrastructure Conference August 5


Attendees at this year's West Michigan Green Infrastructure Conference on August 5 will have a chance to hear David Yocca, FASLA, LEED AP speak at the plenary session on Wednesday afternoon where he will present "Water-Focused Green Infrastructure for Multiple Benefits". The plenary session caps a day-long educational program of topics related to green infrastructure (GI) planning with a focus on three main tracks; Finance and Policy, Stormwater and Flood Management, and Infrastructure at the Regional Scale.
The plenary presentation will highlight examples of GI applications that have been integrated into building, streetscape and park projects located in Michigan and across the Midwest. The projects, designed and engineered by Conservation Design Forum, include:

Ann Arbor Municipal Center Site Design - Ann Arbor, Michigan
Kresge Foundation Headquarters - Troy, Michigan
Auburn Hills Riverwalk Master Plan - Auburn Hills, Michigan
Walsh College Library Expansion - Troy, Michigan
Blackberry Creek Assessment and Planning - Kane County, Illinois
Route 47/Kishwaukee River Corridor Plan - McHenry, Illinois
Lacey Creek Streambank Restoration - Downers Grove, Illinois
Charles City Permeable Streetscape - Charles City, Iowa
West Union Green Streets Pilot Project - West Union, Iowa


CDF is exhibiting at the conference with an illustrative diagram of GI applications suitable for every land use across the watershed - from rural to urban, natural to developed. Attendees are invited to the CDF booth to meet and talk with CDF Principal Landscape Architect Patrick Judd, LLA from our Ann Arbor, Michigan office who can describe the integrated green infrastructure approach at each of the Michigan project sites.


The West Michigan Green Infrastructure Conference expands on the 2014 statewide conference and is hosted by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. The conference offers an optional day of networking and field trips on August 4. For more information or to register, go to:
